Hours: Must be able to commit to work a minimum of five hours per week. Number of hours will vary week-to-week based on demand.
Pay: $20 per hour
Location: Remote position (Tennessee resident preferred)
POSITION SUMMARY: Mothers’ Milk Bank of Tennessee’s Donor Screeners are responsible for screening prospective milk donors according to standards set by the Human Milk Banking Association of North America (HMBANA) and Mothers’ Milk Bank of Tennessee (MMBTN). This position plays a vital role in fulfilling our organization’s mission to provide safe, pasteurized donor human milk to the most vulnerable babies. As a part of the donor screening process, Donor Screeners are also responsible for communicating with prospective donors’ medical providers in order to obtain consent to donate, submit lab orders for required blood tests, maintain accurate and timely donor files, and conduct essential follow up in the screening process.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Maintain knowledge of and demonstrate compliance with all MMBTN and HMBANA policies and procedures related to donor screening.

Manage a booking calendar where prospective milk donors can schedule their screening appointments online based on the Donor Screener’s availability inputted into the online booking calendar.

Conduct phone interviews with prospective milk donors.

Coordinate and counsel milk donors through the screening process.

Upload donor files to a shared drive and maintain accurate and timely data and records in the donor screening databases.

Communicate regularly with potential milk donors during the screening process and throughout their time as a milk donor.

Participate in virtual monthly donor screening team meetings the second Thursday of each month.
QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Candidates must be available a minimum of 5 hours each week. In addition, candidates must provide their own computer or laptop, phone and have reliable internet. Candidates must obtain HIPAA certification within the first week of employment.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Associate degree or similar combination of education and experience.

Must be proficient in computer literacy and have experience with Google Workplace (Gmail, Drive, Google Sheets and Google Docs) or similar programs and software.

Experienced in case management, or care coordination is preferred.

Past work in a healthcare or human services setting is helpful.
