Hospital Services & Clinical Support

Partnering with Tennessee and regional hospitals to provide safe, life-saving donor human milk for the infants you serve.

Mothers’ Milk Bank of Tennessee is dedicated to providing safe pasteurized donor human milk (PDHM) to the most vulnerable babies. We are proud to be recognized as an accredited member of the Human Milk Banking Association of North America (HMBANA) and registered with the FDA. HMBANA guidelines provide evidence-based direction to support the screening, handling, and distribution of safe PDHM that saves lives.

Neonatal Intensive Care Units

For preterm, low-birthweight, and critically ill newborns pasteurized donor human milk reduces the risk of severe complications. Our rigorous safety protocols and consistent supply allow NICU clinical teams to rely on uninterrupted access to donor milk for high-priority infants.

Specialty Care & Well Baby Units

Hospitals across the United States use pasteurized donor human milk to support newborns grappling with temporary feeding barriers. By offering PDHM in specialty care units and well-baby settings, hospitals strengthen continuity of care and promote breastfeeding success from the start. PDHM provides a gentle, biologically appropriate bridge until maternal milk supply increases, helping reduce formula exposure and readmission risk.

Donor Milk to Go: Continuing Care Beyond Discharge

Our Donor Milk to Go program equips hospitals to offer short-term outpatient donor milk for families who need support at the time of discharge. This program ensures a consistent feeding plan while maternal lactation is being established or stabilized. Mothers' Milk Bank of Tennessee provides hospitals with labeled, ready-to-dispense Donor Milk to Go units, along with clear educational materials for both staff and families.
